Capsule of a pancreatic enzyme medication marketed as Creon. This is used to replace the enzymes in the pancreas that break down food during digestion. The medication is intended for patients with conditions in which the pancreas is unable to produce or release enough digestive enzymes into the small intestines to properly digest food. These conditions include chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, pancreatic cancer, and for patients who have undergone pancreatic surgery.
