Ashy dermatosis in the armpit of a 48 year old Hispanic male patient. This condition, also known as erythema dyschromicum perstans, results in irregular grey patches on the skin. It most often affects the face, neck and trunk. The cause is not known, but its onset is usually during young adulthood and it is more common in females. There is no cure, but some cases will resolve on their own.
