Light micrograph of a large corpus amylaceous (pleural: corpora amylacea) in a prostate. Corpora amylacea are normal structures found in human prostate glands. They often appear to have cracks in prepared histologic tissue sections. The cracks in this close-up of a corpus amylaceous are the irregular white lines in between the pink-purple substance which makes up the corpus amylaceous itself. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: x400 when printed at 10cm wide.
