Portugal; Northern region (Norte); city of Vila Nova de Foz C鬭; archeological museum Museu do C鬭: representation of an engraving of an aurochs; Porto based architects Pedro Tiago Pimentel and Camilo Rebelo realized this archeological museum which opened 2010. The modern museum built of granite integrates into the landscape. Thousands of rock engravings (petroglyphs; rock carvings; rock art objects); figurative and graphic representations; date back to paleolithic times; were discovered in the 1980s. The archeological area of C鬭 Parque (C鬭 Park) is an open air museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; now. It extends 50 km from river C鬭 to river Douro and has 70 archeological spots with engravings (petroglyphs);
