Model of an Anchor; Model of Hawkins patent anchor. This anchor does not have a normal anchor pole; this has been replaced by a short stick placed perpendicular to the cross of the arms. The arms and anchor rod rotate together in the forked end of the shaft; the anchor rod forcing the hands into the ground; the stick is brought into the correct position by a rope on a harp near the anchor cross; with which the anchor can also be lifted. The hands are in the same plane as the arms. There is a harp at the top end of the shaft.
