Japan. Edo period (1603-1868). Iron; bronze; lacquer; silk; leather; fur. M鬵ami cuirass (gomai d? with bearskin stripes at the lower edge; fan shaped saihai tsuke-no-kan; kurijime-no-o-kan and gattari. Kawara thigh protection (haidate) with four rows; so-gusari sleeves (kote) and shoulder pieces (sode) joint together. Helmet (kabuto) composed from twelve plates; one fukigaeshi supplemented. Five-row shikoro with structured lacquer (sabi urushi); tehen flower-shaped; mabizashi with coat of arms; maedate replaced. Half mask (hanb?mempo) with three-step tare. Condition C. Altered; lacquered and parts replaced.Art trade; Van Ham.
