The place is a street outside the London Corn market, where buyers and sellers meet for the transaction of business. After almost 14 years a free market in grain is in being again, all Government restrictions having been taken off. The merchandise is shown in the street in order to give potential buyers an opportunity of judging the colour and quantity better as they can in daylight. August 17, 1953.
