This almost prophetic conception of war in the air, was published by a German artist 40 years ago. It illustrates the materialistic tendency that has been fostered in Germany for generations --- and has reached full fruitition under Hitler. About the same time this drawing appeared -- 1900 --- Kaiser Wilhelm 11. designed a small mobile fortress which was, in some respects, the forerunner of the tack. During the reign of the Kaiser, no scientist was welcome at the court unless he could turn his knowledge to warlike uses. Hitler and his colleagues have, continued this policy of moulding a nation for war. Today, errors of aerial combat for exceed the imagination of the Prussian artist whose conception of paratroops was drawn years before Orville Wright made the first flight in a man-lifting aeroplane. September 12, 1940.
