5052784 No. 2 and no. 3 St Barnabas Square, Douglas, Isle of Man, 1929 (b/w photo) by Frowde, John James (1868-1946); Manx National Heritage (Isle of Man); (add.info.: On the back of this photograph John James Frowde writes, "No. 1 on R was then the \'Record Office\' - early on a private house, later Police Station, Town Commissioners, rebuilt in present form, still Commissioners, & lastly Customs. That it was the Record Office in 1833 is certain, but probably the original private house used as such. I doubt if there is a better view of this bit of the old town in existence - if any as good. Note the cobbles and the clerestory panes of the Church. \'The Continental aspect\', as the Illust. Lond. News phrased it."); by Manx National Heritage .
