Shaving foam, differential interference contrast (DIC) light micrograph. A shaving foam is a colloid whereby a gaseous phase is dispersed within a liquid continuous phase. The gaseous phase are the air bubbles which here form a 2D lattice, similar to an atomic lattice. Magnification: x70 when printed 10cm wide.
