Initiation Card (Tsakalis): Vairochana, early 15th century. Tsakali cards were used by teachers moving from one monastery to another to evoke Vajrayana Buddhist deities. Maha Vairochana sutra tells us Vajrasattva was venerated in order to purify the mind prior to undertaking advanced tantric techniques.
