Photograph, during the Irish War of Independence, showing one of the cars in which the R.I.C. Auxiliary Cadets were travelling, and the wall behind which the assailants fired. The cadets were ambushed on Sunday November 28th 1920 by IRA volunteers, at a lonely spot on the road near Macroom, Co. Cork. Sixteen were killed, one wounded, and one missing.
