Suffrage N.U.W.S.S Croydon Branch 1909. In November 1909, the Croydon Branch of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies organised a 'Suffrage Week'. On 10th and 11th November, the branch held a fundraising 'red and white' sale which was opened by Miss Alice Abadam (C1856-1940) then president of the Beckenham Branch, London Society. Suffrage banners hang on the wall, lent to the branch for their procession on 9th November. Including 'Lucy Stone' & 'Jenny Lind' (both Mary lowndes)
