An actor, in costume, waits behind the scenery ready for his entrance, as part of the National Student Drama Festival. The NSDF was founded in 1956 by the Sunday Times arts columnist Kenneth Pearson, the Sunday Times critic Harold Hobson, and the National Union of Students president Frank Copplestone. It is still in existence today.
