Antarctic Mirage. Mirage in Front of Transantarctic Mountain Range. Taken from 150 km away. February 22, 2009 at around 11pm. Mirages are seen frequently in Antarctica. When cold air temperatures are lower than the surrounding ice there is a vanishing line of sight and mirages such as this one occur. This mirage was captured in Antarctica at sunset.
