Gaharu, a valuable resinous, fragrant heartwood of the rare rainforest tree, agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis), also known as aloeswood and eaglewood, in Perak, Malaysia. The high value of gaharu, used for perfume, incense, and medicine, results in illegal cutting, poaching and smuggling.
