Wood-burning locomotive and freight cars on City Point Line during the Civil War. The 13-inch mortar in the foreground was named "The Dictator" and was used by the Federal artillery around Petersburg during the closing months of the war. This gun was so heavy - it weighed 17,000 pounds - that it was necessary to mount it on a railroad car for eassy movement. "The Dictator" fired a 200-pound shell with 20 pounds of powder.
