The Bali Mynah (Leucopsar rothschildi) is nearly all white except for its black wingtips and blue skin patches around its eyes. Its strong bill is bluish-grey and has a dull yellow horn at the tip. This species has a sturdy compact body, a round tail, and erect feathers on its forehead. The Bail Mynah is the only native bird on Bali. It is critically endangered because of habitat destruction by the timber harvest, illegal bird trade, poaching, and nest site competition with the black-winged starling. At this time there are about 13 to 14 Bali Mynah left in the wild. This individual was photographed at the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, Arizona.
