Airship hangars, RAF Cardington, Bedfordshire, c2010s(?). No 1 shed was built in 1915 by Short Brothers to build two airships for the navy. After the First World War the site became the Royal Airship Works and No 1 shed was extended and enlarged in preparation for the R101 project. No 2 shed was brought from Norfolk and re-erected here in 1930. The sheds were later used for constructing barrage balloons.
