The two meters high bronze statue of Gavrilo Princip was unveiled in the eve of 27th of June; 2015; exactly 101 years after the killing of Archduke Franz Ferdiannd of Austria-Hungary; in Sarajevo. The honoured Gavrilo Princip; a Bosnian Serb; was a student and was arrested after the successful coup. He died in prison; in his cell; in 1918; due to a tuberculosis desease.The assassination caused the beginning of World War I (Great War). The statue was built by the Belgrade-based sculptor Zoran Kuzmanovic. There is an additional copy in the city park in East-Sarajevo; also certainly by Belgrade-based sculptor Zoran Kuzmanovic; unveiled in 2014. The statue was a git of Autonomous Serbian Republic in Bosnia. Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic attended the ceremony of 2015.
