Smart salute from "Horace" the robot 'attendant' at a garage in Stratford St Mary near here. Worked by a secret device developed by 30 year old Mr Ivan Robinson, the ex RAF Sergeant proprietor Horace salutes all customers who drive in and out. The robot is worked by microphone and electronic apparatus operated by the noise of car engines. The noisier the engine the faster Horace salutes. 20 May 1963
