Perhaps it's because Panama Al is looking a bit green that nurse Mavis Horler, of Portishead, near Bristol, is checking up on his temperature, there we think that in the hands of a pretty nurse like Mavis, Al's temperature should automatically rise. Panama Al is a baby alligator presented to the Bristol zoo recently by a New Zealand sailor, and in a few years time, under the watchful eye of Mavis, Al should grow up to be a fine specimen some 12Ft long. 17 August 1947
