Miss Marion Bricker , who was flown 6,000 miles from her home in Vancouver Island (Canada) to her wedding, met her bridegroom, Flight Lt Joseph Barrett, of Irish Airlines in Toronto in 1943, after year, completed his training as pilot officer in the RAF. Miss Bricker, daughter of a Vancouver dental surgeon, served during the war as an officer in the Canadian WAAF. Their marriage took place today (Wednesday) at St Raphael's Catholic Church, Surbiton, Surrey.
