Up Aloft In The Old Kent Road. The steeplejacks have a good view of London. They are renovating the litzed gasholder of the South Metropolitan gas company, and is said to be the largest, or one of the largest in London. A delayed action bomb placed it out of commission during the war, and in connection with this the George Model was awarded to one of the company's servants. Steeplejacks are now applying three and a half tons of paint - a job that had just commenced when the war began. Photo shows: Steeplejacks on the top of the structure. View shows London Central and St. Paul's. London, England. 05 September 1946.
