The Holy Light is a symbolic torch lit by Athenagoras the First, Patriarch of Eastern Orthodox Christians, during the resurrection mass held on Easter Eve in Istanbul, Turkey, site of the Greek orthodox patriarchate. Archbishop Iakovos brought the Holy Light to the US. After the patriarch delivered it to a group of American Orthodox pilgrims who accompanied the Archbishop to Istanbul. 19 May 1960
