Trees have now been planted in the garden being built in readiness for the Festival of Britain on the bombed site east of St Paul's Cathedral London between Watling Street and Cannon Street. The garden is to be triangular with the apex at St Paul's Churchyard. A sunken lawn surrounded by a box hedge flower beds and a paved walk, will fill the central space. Beyond the lawn fountains will play into a pool. Image shows Cordon trees planted round the garden in the shadow of St Paul's Cathedral. 15th March 1951
