Now an official monument to author Hilaire Belloc , who died in 1953 , is Shipley Mill , which stands in the grounds of Belloc's former Sussex home . The mill has been put into good working order and throughout the summer visitors were able to see it in action in the hands of Peter Powell , whose father was once the Shipley miller . Out-of-season visitors are seen here dwarfed by the great white sweeps of the 60ft high mill . 30th December 1958
