The Dean of Westminster , The Very Rev . A Don , blessed a PDSA caravan dispensary outside the west Door of Westminster Abbey today . The caravan is the first of a fleet to be known as the Allied Forces Animal ' s War Memorial Caravans. As the Dean blesses the caravan he is watched by , ' Olga ' the Police horse , holder of the Dickin Medal ( the animal VC ) and ridden by PC Arthur Aryner and ' Ricky ' an ex - army dog and also a holder of the Dickin medal . 17 December , 1947
