Mr Harold Cockram ( Richmond's Mace Bearer ) has lately revealed himself as a portrait and landscape artist of considerable merit - his portrait of Councillor Alexander Reid ( Mayor of Richmond for 1933 and Acting Deputy Mayor this year ) has earned much well-deserved praise from the sitter and other members of the Corporation who have been surprised and delighted to find such talent in the man who carries their Mace - it is likely that Mr Cockram will soon receive other commissions - in the meantime Mr Cockram spends all his leisure time at the Town Hall in perfecting his skill with the brush - photo shows Mr Harold Cockram ( Richmond's mace bearer ) with some of his paintings including that of Councillor Akex Reid ( a former Mayor of the town ) January 22nd 1935
