In addition to the first wave of White Russians who finally settled in this country following the Russian Revolution of 1917 thousands more have been unobtrusively filtering into Britain during the last three years. They are refugees from Stalin's realm, seeking freedom in this country. Formerly living a miserable existence in DP camps in Western Germany and Austria, these immigrants are now to be found in London, in the cotton and steel industry and on the land. At a Russian bookshop in Tottenham Street London. A centre where Russian refugees can buy Russian books and emigre papers from all over the world. As only few Russian books are printed outside Soviet Russia this emigre bookshop also stocks books from Moscow publishers. Russian classics and Anglo Russian dictionaries sell best. March 1951
