LORD ASTOR Lord Astor's colours, light blue with the pink sash and cap, have been familiar in classic races for many years. As yet the Derby has eluded him, though a number of his horses have been placed. His candidates seem to have been dogged by bad luck; in the last two years his Early School and Rhodes Scholar were both at one time favourites for the race, but neither could be got to the post.
