US gunmen killed by gunmen in street battle. Two Indiana gangsters, Al Brady, aged 27, public enemy number one of America's West, and his Lt, Clarence Lee Shaffer, Jr, aged 21, who had been hunted by federal agents for several murders and scores of bank robberies, were killed by gunmen in a furious street battle at Bangor, Maine. An accomplice, James Dalhover, aged 30, of Madison, Indiana, was captured. G-man Walter Walsh, aged 28, of Washington, was wounded in the battle.
