London Zoo's smallest baby elephant makes debut in children's Zoo. The smallest baby elephant the London Zoo has had for years has made her first appearance in the Children's Zoo. She came to the Zoo as a gift from the Forest Department of the United provinces Govenment (India) who asked that should be given the name of 'Raj Piari', which means the 'Beloved of the State'. Her name used to be Sheila. Since her arrival from Calcutta a few weeks ago she has been living in seclusion in the Zoo hospital. 26 July 1938
