This picture is a facsimile of the invitation to attend the Coronation issued by the Duke of Norfolk, Earl Marshal of England, at the command of the King. The invitation is in the form of a beautifully printed card 10.5" x 8.75". In the top left corner of the King's Arms in the newly designed arms of the Queen are in the right. Incorporated in the Queen's Arms are the crowned lion of England and the uncrowned lion of Bowes-Lyon, the Queens family. Between them are the arms of England and Scotland with the Rose and Thistle, the national emblems. Running round the edges of the card are - from left - the arms and shamrock of Ireland: the arms, oak leaves and acorns of the union: the arms and maple leaf of Canada: the arms and Fern frond of New Zealand. Centre is the King's cypher and following - the arms and protea overgrown leaf of South Africa; the arms and wattle of Australia; the arms and lotus of India; and the arms and leek of Wales. 6 April 1937
