King Farouk returns to his capital , greeted by tremendous crowds . Gathered in such numbers that the police had difficulty in handling them , the people of Cairo gathered to greet with the 25 year old king Farouk on his return from England after his accension . Cheering crowds , held back by soldiers , lined the streets as the boy king , preceded by his picturesque bodyguard , drove from the station . King Farouk went first to the Rifai Mosque , where his father , King Fuad , is buried , and then continued his journey to the Abdin Palace , where he was greeted by his mother , Queen Nazll , and his sisters .
