National memorial day celebrity in Vienna monument consecrated to Austrian soldiers . The Burgtor , the great Archway in the Rinsdtusse in Vienna guarding the entrance to the former Imperial Palace , was consecrated as a memorial to Austrians who fought during 300 years for Austria from 1818 to 1918 . The consecration took place during the National Memorial Day celebrations in Vienna . The Austrians celebrated this day in memory of all the soldiers who fell in the in the war , and this year in rememberence of Dr Dollfuss the assassinated Austrian Chancellor . Dr Schusehnigg , the Chancellor , Prince St rhemberg , Vice Chancellor of Austria attended the festival together with other Austrian ministers .
