A young Parisian painter is working in the street painting the buildings in Place Saint-Andre-des-Arts - an old daylight photographer's studio and a restaurant called L'Alsace a Paris!... Rue Saint-Andre-des-Arts is on the right in his painting. He is sitting outside a big shop selling stuffed birds and art supplies. There were no yellow lines and parking was regulated by a cardboard parking disc set at the time of arrival and indicating both arrival and departure times through its different windows. The disc was displayed in the windscreen and parked vehicles would be fined if they stayed over the time of departure. One bought the discs at a local tabac. 6e arrondissement, Left Bank, Paris, France, 1963.
