Mrs Phyllis Cradock, the feminine half of the bon viveur team, prepares her three dishes in the culinary duel with Paris restauranteur M. Raymond Oliver at the Cafe Royal. The duel was held after M. Oliver said that women could not create new dishes. Mrs Cradock challenged him - and they were both creating three new dishes to be judged by three cookery experts. Mrs Cradock did her cooking in a ball gown. 9 January 1956
