Court of Wick pippin apple; Malus domestica; raised in Somerset from a golden pippin. Handcoloured copperplate engraving by S. Watts from a botanical illustration by C.M. Curtis from John Lindley's 鈥楶omological Magazine;' James Ridgway; London; 1828. The magazine was published in three volumes from 1828 to 1830 and discontinued at plate 152 because of a dispute between the editors. Lindley (1795-1865) was an English botanist and gardener who published books on roses; orchids; and fruit.
