England's second tallest tree (as of early 2016), a Grand Fir (Abies grandis). It is a towering 57.8 metres or 190 feet. It was planted around 1860 as part of an arboretum at the Wansfell Holme Country Estate (which can bee seen in the background), now known as Skelghyll woods in Ambleside, in the Lake District. This tree is higher than Nelsons Column and taller than a dozen double decker buses stacked on top of each other.
