Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of the electron diffraction pattern of molybdenum trioxide (MoO3). The most intense signal shows as yellow and the weakest as blue. MoO3 is a source of molybdenum metal and is also important as an oxidation catalyst. It has an orthorhombic crystal structure and may have applications in electrochemical devices.
