MODEL RELEASED. Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) skeleton preparation. Conservator Abdi Hedayat from the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen inspects and arranges sperm whale teeth. These teeth, and the entire skeleton bones came from a whale first found stranded on Henne Strand, Jutland, Denmark. It measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes. The skeleton, which includes around 150 bones plus a huge skull will be assembled for public display at the Museum. Whale teeth are used to estimate the age. Using Ct scanning, the growth rings were counted and the whale was thought to be between 40-50 years old.
