Oblong-leaved sundew (Drosera intermedia) leaves. This carnivorous plant has glandular hairs on its leaves that secrete a sticky liquid with a fragrance that attracts insects. The insects get stuck on the glands and become enclosed by the leaves. The glands then secrete digestive enzymes to break down the prey's body and the plant absorbs the nitrogenous nutrients that are released. Photographed in July, in Dorset, UK.
