Apollo 11 bootprint on Moon. Bootprint being made by US astronaut Buzz Aldrin (born 1930), the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot. Aldrin made and photographed this bootprint about an hour into the lunar extra-vehicular activity carried out by him and Neil Armstrong on 20 July 1969. It was obtained for analysis by soil mechanics experts studying the lunar surface.
