MODEL RELEASED. Littoral Surface Craft-Experimental. View of the Littoral Surface Craft-Experimental (LSC-X) under construction. This X-Craft is a high-speed aluminium catamaran consisting of an advanced hull geometry, designed to enable it to reach speeds of 50 knots or more. The US Office of Naval Research (ONR) has initial plans to conduct hydrodynamic experimentation as a test bed for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HME) concepts for the Navy's new class of warship, the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).
