Aries the Ram, first of the twelve constellations or signs of the Zodiac. The figure of the ram is superimposed on a photograph in which the constellation stars have been enhanced. Aries has been associated with the ram for at least 2000 years. It was also known as prince" or "leader" of the constellations when it began to be the location of the spring equinox about 1000 BC. The Greeks associated Aries with the story of the Argonauts & the Golden Fleece. The Chinese called it the Dog, part of a larger figure that included Taurus & Gemini. The Sun is in Aries from 21 March to 19 April."
