Voyager 2 image of the Uranian ring system, taken on January 24, 1986. The picture reveals a continuous distribution of small particles throughout the ring system. It also shows all the previously known rings, though some of the brightest features in the picture are bright dust lanes which have not been detected before. The long exposure time has resulted in streaks in the photo of trailed stars.
