The large dark mass at upper right is the bladder. This presses against the uterus directly underneath. A fibroma is a benign tumour of the cells that make up connective tissue (material that surrounds body structures and holds them together). Surgical removal is required if symptoms develop. Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to create images of the body's internal structures.
