MODEL RELEASED. AIDS chemotherapy. A male patient suffering from AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) receives chemotherapy from a district nurse. The nurse is injecting a syringe filled with anti-cancer drugs into a tube that is permanently attached to the patient's chest. On the man's face are dark lesions caused by Kaposi's sarcoma, a rare cancerous skin tumour found in 20% of all male AIDS patients. Kaposi's sarcoma usually begins on the feet and spreads up throughout the body. In severe cases such as this chemotherapy is required. Photographed in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
