Human cloning can, in theory, generate a person whose genetic material, or DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), is identical to that of another person, by replacing the DNA present in a human egg with DNA of the person to be cloned. A test tube baby is created by the fertilization of a mother's egg with the father's sperm in the laboratory, a process known as in vitro fertilization (IVF). A designer baby is one whose genetic composition has been chosen, to any extent, by its parents.
